CLINICAL STUDENT COORDINATOR

The Clinical Student Coordinator at Riverside Medical Center is responsible for managing and coordinating students' clinical education and training within the medical center. This role involves organizing clinical rotations, overseeing student placements, and ensuring compliance with educational and regulatory standards. The coordinator liaises between students, faculty, and clinical staff to facilitate a supportive and effective learning environment. The coordinator demonstrates flexibility with assignments within the professional scope/duties/licensure.

Essential Duties

Clinical Rotation Coordination:

• Organize and manage clinical rotations and placements for students, ensuring alignment with their educational requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate clinical experiences, including assigning students to appropriate departments and preceptors.
• Schedules faculty development programs through major universities.

Student Support:

• Serve as students' primary point of contact, addressing any concerns or issues related to their clinical experiences.
• Provide guidance and support to students throughout their clinical rotations, including orientation and ongoing mentorship.
• Plans, schedules, and proctors examinations maintains records and assembles grade information. 

Liaison Role:

• Act as a liaison between students, educational institutions, and clinical staff to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.
• Ensure that students meet the requirements and expectations set by their educational programs and the medical center.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure that all student placements comply with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student rotations, evaluations, and other relevant documentation.

Program Development:

• Assist in developing and enhancing clinical education programs and curriculum based on feedback from students and clinical staff.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to clinical training processes and procedures.
• Recruits new preceptors as needed and oversees the maintenance of their information in the database, including preferences on rotations. 

Training and Orientation:

• Conduct orientations for students to familiarize them with clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Provide training on safety protocols, clinical skills, and the use of medical equipment as necessary.

Evaluation and Feedback:

• Collect and analyze feedback from students and clinical staff to assess the effectiveness of clinical rotations.
• Prepare and present reports on student performance and program outcomes to educational institutions and medical center leadership.

Administrative Duties:

• Handle administrative tasks related to student placements, including scheduling, record-keeping, and correspondence.
• Assist with logistical arrangements for student activities, including meetings, workshops, and evaluations. 
• Develops, updates and prepares annual report describing the program and rotations. 

Required Experience

• Ability to develop and implement programs, plan events, and oversee students.
• Ability to interact with a variety of people.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. 
• Understanding of the educational process including curriculum and evaluations.

Required Licensure/Education

• High School Diploma 

Preferred Education

• Bachelors degree preferred.
