Overview

The Sales Counselor at Riverside Senior Living is responsible for driving occupancy by effectively marketing the community to prospective residents and their families. This role involves managing the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing, while providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with potential residents. The Sales Counselor will collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to ensure that Riverside Senior Living is the community of choice for seniors in the area. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.

Essential Duties

  • Lead Generation and Management: Proactively generate leads through networking, outreach, and participation in community events. Manage and follow up on all inquiries and referrals in a timely manner.
  • Tours and Presentations: Conduct tours of the community, showcasing the benefits, amenities, and services available to potential residents. Tailor presentations to address the specific needs and concerns of prospects and their families.
  • Sales Process Management: Guide prospects through the entire sales process, from initial contact to move-in, ensuring that all paperwork and contracts are completed accurately and efficiently. Also includes internal transfers within the continuum. 
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential residents, their families, and referral sources. Provide ongoing communication and support throughout the decision-making process.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about the local senior living market, including competitor offerings, pricing, and trends. Provide feedback to the management team on market conditions and potential opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies that drive traffic and increase occupancy. Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless move-in experience for new residents.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including lead tracking, conversion rates, and occupancy levels. Provide regular reports to the management team on sales performance.
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to infection control, safety, abuse, neglect, and resident privacy (HIPAA).
  • Regularly complete all assigned training modules and courses within the Learning Management System (LMS) to stay up to date on required skills, policies, and industry standards.

Non-essential Duties

  • Event Planning and Support: Assist in planning and executing community events designed to attract prospective residents and showcase the community.
  • Resident and Family Engagement: Participate in resident and family meetings, offering insights and assistance as needed to support resident satisfaction and retention.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks related to sales and marketing, such as preparing marketing materials and maintaining prospect databases.

Responsibilities

Required Education

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, in the senior living, healthcare, or hospitality industry preferred. 

Preferred Education

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Licensure/Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid drivers license required; additional certifications in sales or marketing are a plus.
