Overview

Riverside Healthcare is seeking a skilled and proactive IT System Administrator to join our Information Technology team in Kankakee, Illinois. This role is responsible for managing and supporting the organizations SQL servers, OnBase system, and some small applications. The IT System Administrator will also be part of a team responsible for managing and maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of all systems and planning for growth. This includes the corporate datacenter and disaster data. This role is critical in supporting the hospitals mission to provide high-quality patient care through reliable and efficient technology.

 

Essential Duties

  • SQL Support: Provide day to day support for SQL servers.
  • OnBase Support: Serve as the subject matter expert for the OnBase system.
  • Application Administration: Manage small applications. Manage and write scripts for secure SFTP.
  • System Management: Administer and maintain data center systems, operating systems, and hardware. Monitor system performance, ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability. Perform general administration of Windows servers.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner. Assist ITS, Information Security, and Epic staff with troubleshooting issues.
  • Technology Research: Research new technology and assist Systems and Data Center Manager in evaluating new technology. Stay informed on current trends and issues in healthcare, national and state-wide standards and regulations, and enterprise policies and procedures as related to healthcare information systems.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and services.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. Perform maintenance and upgrades during off-hours, and provide coverage for 24x7 on-call support. Works above scheduled FTE, as needed, as a salaried professional.

 

Non-essential Duties

  • Training and Development: Assist in training staff on new software and hardware as needed, ensuring they are proficient in using IT resources.
  • Project Participation: Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise and support as required.

Responsibilities

Required Experience

  • 2-4 years experience in direct support of IT Technical Infrastructure components
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Business Administration preferred
  • Microsoft, VMware, SQL, Citrix, Epic and/or RHEL certifications preferred
